Trafalgar Square, London
Trafalgar Square is one of London’s most recognisable landmarks, and a must-see on any tour of the city.
Based at the intersection between Charing Cross and Whitehall, Trafalgar Square is filled with iconic London sights – the square itself houses the fountains, statues of lions, and of course the impressive Nelson’s Column (which stands at 169 ft 3ins tall). The north side of the square is taken up with The National Gallery, and the Houses Of Parliament are visible to the south, looking down Whitehall. Also nearby is St. Martin In The Fields church, which has a wonderful crypt area where curious tourists can enjoy a cup of tea! (more…)
