Snip Snip: After The Vasectomy
I’m sure you guys are getting sick of the vasectomy posting at the moment, but it’s probably the biggest thing going on in my life right now.
Well, today was mostly a lot of sitting around the ward waiting for my turn. The staff at the hospital were extremely friendly and sensitive. Having said that, the first thing the consultant told me when we met was “Now, this procedure is easily reversible.” I took pains to explain that I wouldn’t be here if I wanted to reverse the process, but he seemed to feel this was vital information anyway.
In the mid-morning, I was wheeled into the theatre and positioned underneath the big light in the middle of the room. I noticed the radio playing I Don’t Feel Like Dancing in the background, but it wasn’t until later that the irony of the Scissor Sisters playing while I got ‘the snip’ hit me.
Being a squeamish sort, I decided to go for general anaesthetic, but I was harbouring heroic visions of resisting sleep. Ha! I was out like a light in seconds! Half-an-hour later I woke up with a stinging, warm sensation in my groin, and was wheeled back to the ward for rest and a bite to eat.
Now, in the wee small hours, I’m still a bit woozy from the anaesthetic, but otherwise fine. Not so much pain at the moment, although I’ve heard day 2 can be more painful!
Anyway, after 18 months of waiting, that’s it done. No regrets, but then I have to submit two samples in February and March to verify that the vasectomy worked. Can’t wait.
Has anyone else gone through a vasectomy? I’d love to hear your experiences.

Ouchie! Hope you’re doing OK now. Obviously I’ve never had a vasectomy but I know some guys who have. Recently my mother was asked how many grandchildren she had. “Just the eight,” she said.
I said, “And with five daughters over 45 and two sons with vasectomies I think you’ve had your lot!”

Had mine done five years ago. They gave me a valium/demerol cocktail and that was it. Very little pain ever. Was told that reversing it may be doubtful so I never considered. Remember you still got the live stuff in the tubes so get to work getting it out. I was told up to 12 ejaculations until I was shooting blanks.

Freddo, normally I’d be busily emptying out the rest of my sperm reserves, but I’m actually quite badly bruised. I think any vigorous activity might just kill the little man off.
Thanks for the comment, though. Not sure about the wisdom of the 12 ejaculations – I think I’ll wait until the docs confirm it!

Mr Levee the old addage, No-Pain – No-Gain, in your case appears to hold true, a bruised todger is a terrible thing, not that I have would know. “Has anyone else gone through a vasectomy?” No Way, Not a chance, Never, Absolutely not, By no means, thumbsdown, complete refusal and No.

Hmmm
Nothing new from the Levees for quite some time. Is this a good sign or not ;o)

Aileen: My observations concur with yours. Probably one of two conclusions (1) The op was an entire sucess, therefore it would not be unreasonable to expect a few test drives o the new equipment. (2) The op and recovery is taking longer than expected, in that event test drives maybe would’nt be such a good idea. Mr Levee would you kindly either post an article or alternativly enlighten us with a diplomatic response.
